Why Barcelona?





1. The first point is LOCATION. What does it mean?
Barcelona’s location is really good. Tthis city is the gateway to southern Europe. Its history has about 2000 years and it’s the Mediterranean’s area capital. It is well known as a bridge to the Maghreb and a platform to Latin America and it is represent the main city in the Mediterranean. In Catalonia it is also known as the economic, cultural and administrative capital. Barcelona is one of the economic drivers of the European Union and Spain.



Barcelona has about more than 25 million inhabitants, ones that make up the Euroregion. This Euroregion stretches from the Balearics to Aragon, and from Valencia to the south-east of France.
Being on the shores of the Mediterranean in the north-east of Spain, two hours from France by road. It has a good connection with the main European cities. This connection means that Barcelona’s destinations that is preferred for international investment in southern Europe.
Barcelona is a leader of the Mediterranean, it is like a bridge to the southern shore and a platform for the entry of goods, merchandise and people from the Middle East and America, is becoming increasingly clear.

Christmas lights in Barcelona

In Barcelona well-known "Els llums de Nadal." It is special lights for Merry Christmas in Barcelona. Christmas stars when the Mayor of Barcelona are switched on all the lights every year. This year the lights were turned on the 22nd of November. The Barcelona Shopping night that helds every year is more popoular even than Christmas shoppping with its shopping festivals, and popular Christmas fashionable shopping street well known as Passeig de Gracia. During Christmas time in Barcelona you will find the christmas light on more than 390 spots and streets with illumination that that cover for about 85km.
One more popular tourist destination is Magic Fountain of Monjuic in Barcelona. During Christmas period thid fountain has a special Christmas water and music show. 
This special free show you can watch on Fridays and Saturdays in December 2013 and on 25th December and 1st January between 19:00 to 21:00. But it could be cold, so take care about yourself and dress warmly. Torre Agbar in the Sant Marti district is one more unusual Christmas show, which lights up with a special Christmas light show from 18:00 to 23:00.

Spain-Barcelona pro-European Union protests 2013

Today the 30th of November active citizens in Barcelona appeared to protect Ukrainian right to be in European Union! Everyone knows that Ukraine is not in the best relationship with European Union, but it was a great chance for Ukraine people become one step closer to Europe. Who could answer why our people suffer from inappropriate behavior of some of the head of the state? Where is the root of non-human behavior to Ukrainian people? 
The series of protests well known in the world as the EuroMaidan. The protest in Ukraine started on the night of 21 November, 2013. On the 21st of November, 2013 the protest for better life started out. In the capital of Ukraine in Kiev people begun protesting. The main challenge is  we want better life and Ukraine worth of it and deserve it! 
The series of protest were throughout the Europe, so we can’t stay aside!!! A few people, but WE CAN change the world!!!

Regulacíon horaria en Barcelona

BARCELONA . STAC 
Nearly 500 drivers have supported the call for Regulation Time, conducted by the Taxi Sindicat de Catalunya (STAC ). The demonstration started just after 11:30 am, at the confluence of the streets Ronda Sant Pere / Pl. Urquinaona and has come to the Plaza Sant Jaume.


The protest was led by four taxis, engalardonados with posters calling for the whole sector to assist concentration and a large banner that read: Regulation Time, SI .
The meeting was developed in peaceful way and at the end of it was read a letter to the mayor of Barcelona and president of the WBA, Xavier Trias, in urging the Administration to take action to adopt some form of regulation. The text of the statement is as follows: The taxi industry is suffering a crisis for years without having taken any steps to balance supply with demand. There is an excessive number of overexploited licenses and our organization has requested a while some regulation Barcelona taxi sector. This type of regulation must aim only remove street cars for the rest to monetize their work. Many cities (Madrid, Bilbao, Cordoba, among others) have already taken steps to regulate the sector and even in Valencia, and despite being paralyzed by the judge, the taxi drivers have voted for Regulation Time. Barcelona need to adopt a measure to remove cars from the street and balance supply with demand. All sections of this country have been regulated , the cab also has to do. The Sindicat Taxi de Catalunya (STAC ) has called on the administration for years the implementation of Regulation Time as a fundamental measure to balance supply and demand. Today we MANIFEST to require the Administration to implement a type of regulation that Time dignify our profession and make it more profitable. 16 hours for all is our proposal. REGULATION TIME . SI After delivery of the manifest to Chief Cabinet Eduard Freixedes, president of IMET, the manifestation is dissolved. They have very interesting one. You have to eat 12 grapes during the time along with the 12 ‘gongs of the bells’ of clock. It is counted like the sign for good luck for the New Year. What is about young people? As usually nothing new, they are usually celebrating New Year with their friends. They admire to party until the sunrise and drink one special national drink is Spain well known as cava, for tourists it is easier to understand – Spanish champagne. With that staff they finish their celebration! In Barcelona you will see some fireworks throughout the city, but it is not their habit to celebrate New Year this way.

The biggest and the most popular event of the year is Festa Major de Gracia! The Festa Major de Gracia takes place from 15th to 21st of August and all city and the neighborhood will turn into a wonderful fairy tale. Local people are competing in street decorations and they take this very seriously, you will be immersed oeuvre! Besides the street decoration there are also many parties, live music concerts, human towers, parades and fireworks, Festa Major de Gracia is for sure something is Barcelona that is really worth´s to see! There are a lot of wonderful places in Gracia, it would be better for you to read about them and of course visit it! Gracia is famous for its beautiful, marvelous sunny squares, bars, cafes, restaurants and terraces, little streets with little traffic and boutique shops. As well you may know Gracia was like an independent town until the end of the 19th century. The most of the locals from this district are very proud of their roots and even reply they are from Gracia, even not from Barcelona. Gracia district is a very diverse, it has a high ethnic population and despite of the trendy nature, it is also a very traditional district with its

own history and a huge amount of elderly people, this diversity create wonderful atmosphere of looking how its inhabitants walk around the streets. Ones of the most crowded and lively places of the Gracia are the squares. Let´s go to some of them! If do you look for some place where to go to it- Gracia’s districts are the perfect places! It is heaps of restaurants and cafes. In these lovely restaurants and cafes you can have a dinner, drink or whatever you want. Let’s start from the first square Virreina Square, which is located near the compelling Sant Joan church. Virreina Square has 3 terraces located on this square and they are always cowded. In the centre of the Virreina Square, there were children playing with the ancient waterpump. Next is the Diamant Square, this place is not so crowded as the Virreina Squere, there was only one terrace, Diamant restaurant. The food there is really good, but unfortunately not cheap. You 100 percent must Placa Del Sol.  Placa Del Sol is one of the favorites of the locals! The atmosphere was there marvelous and you can even take in nightclubs on this square.  There you could find the Gaudi’s masterpiece of in the district Gracia, also known Casa Vincens, a house built in 1888. Casa Vincens is the building that was the important one of his creature and it is a family residence. One more important thing about the Casa Vincens – it is for sale ! Unfortunately, people can’t visit this place, but it is definitely worth a visit! There you will find a luxury five-star hotel, named Casa Fuster, where one night stars about €250. Pretty good! Is not it? It is the modernism’s splendid masterpiece and it is ranked as the most expensive buildings ever made in Barcelona.
Placa Del Sol
If you adore cooking with ultimate fresh ingredients, you have to go to a market like Mercat de la Llibertat. Mercat de la Llibertat is a big inside market, there you will find a huge variety of fresh food like a bread, fish, meat, vegetables and fruit. It is a busy, but cozy atmosphere in Mercat de la Llibertat, when the local people of Gracia are doing their daily shopping. And of course, not to miss, one of the most greatest sights of Barcelona that is located in Gracia: Parc Guell. Seems like everybody know extensive garden complex with marvelous architectural elements of Gaudi? The park is a perfect place to hang around and there is a beautiful view over the city of Barcelona from the top of the hill. Now read really attentively because it will help you! There is some special road to Parc Guell where you don´t have to climb up hill. At this special pace are escalators. When you are up, you just have to ask the locals where Parc Guell is! Good luck!
